Setting up JavaScript and Popup Blocking for the DNR Data Deli.

Before you can use the DNR Data Deli, your browser must be properly configured. If this is your first time using the Deli, it can be hard to know where to start. Relax, we'll take you through the process right now.

Step 1. Enable JavaScript

If you are using Windows Internet Explorer 6

    A: Use this method if you do not have specific security settings setup on your machine.

      1. Select the "Tools" menu.
      2. Select the menu item "Internet Options".
      3. Select the "Security" tab.
      4. Click the "Internet" web content zone.
      5. Set the slider bar to a setting of "Medium" which is also the default level.
      6. Press "Ok".

    B: Use this method if you have specific security settings setup on your machine.

      1. Select the "Tools" menu.
      2. Select the menu item "Internet Options".
      3. Select the "Security" tab.
      4. Click the "Custom Level" button.
      5. Scroll down to the "Active Scripting" setting.
      6. Click "Enable".
      7. Press "Ok".
      8. Press "Ok" on the next window.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox

    1. Select the "Tools" menu.
    2. Select the menu item "Options".
    3. Click on the "Web Features" icon on the left side.
    4. Check "Enable JavaScript".
    5. Press "Ok"

Step 2. Disable Popup Blocking

If you are using Windows Internet Explorer 6

    Windows XP Service Pack 2 Enables Internet Explorer popup blocking by default.

      1. Select the "Tools" menu.
      2. Select the menu item "Popup Blocker".
      3. Select the menu item "Turn off Popup Blocker"

    To specifically allow the Deli's popup windows:

      1. Select the "Tools" menu.
      2. Select the menu item "Popup Blocker".
      3. Select the menu item "Popup Blocker Settings"
      4. Type: deli.dnr.state.mn.us into the "Address of Web site to allow" box.
      5. Press the "Add" button.
      6. Press "Close" button.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox

      1. Select the "Tools" menu.
      2. Select the menu item "Options".
      3. Click on the "Web Features" icon on the left side.
      4. Un-check "Block Popup Windows"

    To specifically allow the Deli's popup windows:

      1. Select the "Tools" menu.
      2. Select the menu item "Options".
      3. Click on the "Web Features" tab on the left side.
      4. Press the "Add Site" button.
      5. Type: deli.dnr.state.mn.us into the "Enter a site to unblock" box.
      5. Press the "Ok" button.
      6. Press the "Ok" button.
